"The old question about Tommy Lee -- "How'd he score with Pamela Anderson?" -- was answered to everyone's satisfaction with the leak of their home videotapes. Now there's a new question: Why on earth has he put out three solo albums? Tommyland, like his previous solo work, is competent and dull -- two adjectives rarely applied to Lee's tenure as Motley Crue's drummer. The record is larded both with celebrity guest stars (the vocalists include Good Charlotte's Joel Madden and Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter) and complaints about how hard it is to be famous. The chorus of "Tired" goes, "Tommy got tired of Pamela/Ed got tired of Salma"; it's meant to be a complaint about how hard monogamy is, but it just comes off as name-dropping. Musically, the album hopscotches between pastiches of the Beatles and pastiches of Alice in Chains -- it would be the most blatantly derivative album of 2005 if Oasis hadn't already released a record this year. KERR URGES GALLAGHER TO FORGET KENSIT AND RECLAIM HIS CAREER

SIMPLE MINDS star JIM KERR has urged OASIS frontman LIAM GALLAGHER to get over his divorce from actress PATSY KENSIT if he wants to win back the band's fans.

Kerr also married and divorced Kensit and fathered her son James, 12.
But he insists that unlike Gallagher, he refused to let the actress ruin his music career, and he advises the WONDERWALL to follow his example if he wants to make an album as good as Simple Minds' latest disc, 050505.

He says, "I think Oasis have lost their edge, but if they can pass through the phases of having the houses in the country and the ex-wives, the music will come back to them.

"Then Oasis will be able to make the album we've just made. Oasis were a band of a generation and they have no new tricks.

"The challenge for Oasis is to come through this. Liam is a fantastic frontman but his band were a band of their generation like BLUR."

OASIS RETURN TO SCOTLAND IN DECEMBER

Oasis are pleased to announce that they will return to Scotland after their sold out stadium show at Hampden Park in June. The band will play the Glasgow SECC for the first time since 1997 on Wednesday 14th December and Thursday 15th December. Before arriving in Glasgow the band will also play the Aberdeen AECC on Monday 12th December.

Liam Gallagher has been called on to give Charlotte Church a wild edge - to her voice anwyay.

It seems bosses at soft drink Pepsi are keen to unite the pair after the singer and Oasis struck up a friendship at the Q Awards earlier this year.

Both Church and the Gallagher brothers are no strangers to hellraising and Pepsi chiefs hope a megabucks pairing in an advert could give the brand a more rock and roll image.

They already have family-friendly stars like Britney Spears and Beyonce on board so perhaps Oasis and Church could expand their appeal to a younger, more cynical audience.

Well, if they are that cynical no amount of pop-friendly publicity stunts are likely to sway them - but who knows where the unlikely partnership could lead.

Toshiba Announces Agreement To Bring Exclusive Oasis Content To The Toshiba 803 Music Phone

17 October, 2005 – Toshiba Mobile Communications Division today announced an agreement to bring exclusive live and pre-recorded content from Oasis to its music mobile phone Toshiba 803. As part of this agreement Toshiba has been appointed exclusive mobile sponsor for Oasis live dates across major European territories up to Christmas 2005.

The Toshiba 803 handset, which will be launched in Europe in October, will be bundled with exclusive audio and video from Oasis on a 512 MB SD card. This content includes the first chance for Oasis fans to see the video for the new Oasis single “Let There Be Love” as well as five exclusive live audio and video tracks recorded at Oasis amazing homecoming concert at the City of Manchester Stadium in July 2005.

Oasis exploded into the rock scene in 1994 and has since sold over 40 million albums worldwide. The group embarked on their biggest ever world tour this year, which will see the band play to over 2 million people before the year is out. Toshiba has been awarded exclusive mobile sponsor status for the European leg of the tour commencing 20th October through to 22nd December, including Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Belfast, Dublin and the instant sell-out Cardiff Millennium Stadium end of year festival event.
